The games load quickly both on desktop and mobile. The site is well-optimized to work even when there’s no broadband internet connection available. The game search is also quick and smart - it shows you live results with an option to filter them on the fly.

The FAQ section of the site is, in turn, incomplete. It lacks important information about the available withdrawal methods and withdrawal limits, and at times, it seems to contradict itself.

The biggest problem we found at the BitStarz Casino is related to the payments page. When you try to check the available withdrawal methods, as well as the withdrawal limits, the page only shows cryptocurrency payment options, and none for FIAT currencies. This may be because some payment methods are unavailable in South Africa but there are no details about this available in the FAQ, in the T&C document or anywhere else.

BitStarz only shows the payment methods available in a certain location - and this filtering may not always work. Perhaps this is the reason why there are no traditional payment methods shown when you visit the site from South Africa. If you are not sure whether your preferred payment method is available or not, it’s best if you contact customer support via live chat or email.

Another problem we found at BitStarz is the incomplete FAQ. It does cover some aspects but the answers are short and sometimes incomplete or ambiguous. At times, not even the Terms and Conditions document doesn’t have a clear answer. The casino should work on improving the FAQ for the benefit of the players.

Aside from these, the only issue we have with the BitStarz website is the weird bug that affects the menu on smartphones that we mentioned above.

Should You Play at BitStarz Casino? Our Verdict

BitStarz Casino has an amazing collection of games and some very attractive bonuses. It is aimed at cryptocurrency users, although it does support FIAT currencies as well. It has a few issues in its documentation, and it’s not clear which payment methods are available in which jurisdiction. These can be, in turn, clarified if you contact its customer support.

The lack of live dealer games is one of the biggest shortcomings of the BitStarz casino. These are only available in certain countries - and South Africa is not one of them.

Overall, our opinion is that you should give BitStarz a try. Unless, of course, you are looking for live dealer games. 

Be aware, though, that you may only be able to withdraw your winnings to a cryptocurrency wallet.
