Overview
The Mmabatho Palms Hotel, Casino and Convention Center was recently refurbished and is now one of the leading casino and hotel resorts in the North West Province. Situated in the town of Mafikeng, the casino provides everything that visitors are looking for in an entertainment experience – top-notch casino gaming, a stunning landscape and a natural oasis near enough to the city to drive down (3 hours from Johannesburg), but far enough to feel secluded, as well as access to the surrounding beauty and activities.
The complex includes an 18-hole golf course, a fitness and spa centre for extra pampering and several dining options.
Casino
Designed to reflect a plush gambling setting, the casino at Mmabatho Palms is second to none, providing players with just the right balance between tasteful casino action and true African hospitality. The casino offers 155 slot machines, which are available to players 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
In addition, the 8 gaming tables incorporate roulette, blackjack and poker at very convenient hours of the day and night.
Regular promotions run at the casino, including equal chance draws and the chance to win cash and casino credits.
Dining and Bars
The dining options at Mmabatho Palms reflect the rich history of the area and the delicious cuisine. The Motswedi Terrace Casino has been described as a “chic a la carte restaurant with a distinctive African theme”, and visitors enjoy anything from a full breakfast to an international-flavoured menu. The Motswedi Terrace is open every day of the week, serving dinner until 10 pm.
The Motswedi Lounge is also open daily from 8 am until midnight and serves light meals, drinks and other snacks.
Accommodation
One of the most attractive features of the Mmabatho Palms Hotel and Casino Resort is the four-star Peermont Walmont Hotel, which provides modern-meets-classic decor in its 150 rooms. The hotel is big on comfort, giving visitors access to air-conditioned, en-suite rooms, satellite channels, a stunning central courtyard with a bar and pool terrace, sports facilities and recreational facilities that suit visitors of all ages. Of the 150 rooms, 73 of them are classic rooms, while the rest are deluxe rooms, luxury rooms, executive rooms, suites, and special assistance rooms. There is also one presidential room.
Attractions in the area include the Mafikeng Museum, which was built in 1902, the 18-hole championship Leopard Park Golf Course with its stunning Victorian-style clubhouse located next to the hotel, as well as the Palms Retreat Wellness Spa and Fitness Center – the perfect spot to relax and take full advantage of the fantastic range of treatments, massages and therapies offered.
