H2: Africa Cup of Nations 2025 Fixtures, Predictions & Scores

Our guide to all 36 group games in the 2025 African Cup of Nations includes the latest odds, betting tips and the AFCON 2025 schedule for the round-robin and last 16 knockout matches. Popular markets for overall punts include the tournament winner and top goalscorer. Each match offers a plethora of bets that include accumulators/ACCA, Both Teams To Score (BTTS), the match result, to win to nil and the first goalscorer. Before placing a bet on any of the tournament clashes, it is advisable to consider information about the head coaches, head-to-head records, historical records at the tournament, recent form, star players and the latest team squad news.

Zambia#90Patson Daka (Leicester City), Lameck Banda (Lecce)
Comoros#108Youssouf M'Changama (Troyes), Faïz Selemani (Al-Hazem)

Hosts Morocco, stunned 2-0 by South Africa in the last 16 at the previous AFCON tournament, are overwhelming favourites to both top their group and to win the 2025 African Cup.

The Atlas Lions kick off the AFCON 2025 event against minnows Comoros, when they are expected to breeze to victory at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Comoros, priced at 21.00 to spring a surprise over Morocco, have only ever picked up one AFCON victory. Their dismal record leaves head coach Stefano Cusin faced with damage limitation at the tournament.

Head coach Walid Regragui steered Morocco to the 2022 FIFA World Cup semi-finals, which helped establish them as the continent’s giants. The heavyweights boast defender Achraf Hakimi, the 2025 African Footballer of the Year, in their ranks and are unlikely to concede many goals in their group games against Comoros, Mali and Zambia.

Backing Morocco as outright champions offers low odds of 3.75. Betting on both halves of their group games, which increases prices as you are trying to predict the outcome of both the first half and the match result, means that a half-time/full-time combo bet is an advisable punt for the AFCON 1976 champions: Atlas Lions.

Mali changed managers just over a year ago, with former Ghana boss Tom Saintfiet installed. He should easily guide the Eagles out of the group, with Zambia priced at 7.1 to defeat Mali in their opener. The Copper Bullets failed to win a group game at the 2023 African Cup of Nations. In contrast, Mali reached the AFCON 2023 quarter-finals.

It would need a minor miracle for Zambia to progress in the tournament, with bets for them to lose all three group games opening up glorious opportunities to back opponents with bet builders. This is a single bet when you pick from various markets — such as total cards, corners, fouls, goals and tackles.

Angola#89Gelson Dala (Al-Wakrah), Mabululu (Al-Ittihad)
Zimbabwe#129Tino Kadewere (Nantes), Marvelous Nakamba (Luton Town)

Egypt, Africa’s oldest football nation, have a real shot at adding to their AFCON crowns with veteran winger and goal machine Mohamed Salah captaining the Pharaohs and is a good bet to finish as the tournament's top goalscorer. Since head coach Hossam Hassan arrived in February 2024, Egypt have been formidable during qualifying for both the 2025 African Cup of Nations and next year’s World Cup finals.

Egypt tussle with Algeria as the second favourites with the bookmakers, behind Morocco, to win AFCON 2025. Their group games against Angola and Zimbabwe should be straightforward, when a wager on total goals for the over/under betting would be more lucrative than laying down a punt on an Egypt victory.

Angola and Zimbabwe both have new managers. 2024 and 2025 COSAFA Cup winners Angola appointed Patrice Beaumelle following their CAF World Cup qualifying failure, while the Warriors have never progressed past the AFCON 2025 group stages and are coached by Mario Marinical.

South Africa boss Hugo Broos could potentially cause chaos at this African Cup of Nations. His squad largely comprises local players, who ply their trade in the Betway Premiership, and have already gelled as a unit because around half of the squad were involved in their successful AFCON 2023 campaign. Bafana Bafana finished third at the last African Cup of Nations, bowing out in the penalty shootout to Nigeria following a 1-1 stalemate.

Belgium tactician Broos, who won AFCON 2017 with Cameroon, has hot-shot striker Lyle Foster at his disposal for the mouthwatering Boxing Day clash against Egypt. It is worth exploring a BTTS bet, with the benefit of this punt keeping bettors on the edge of their seats until the final whistle.

Uganda#85Allan Okello (Vipers SC), Fahad Bayo (MFK Vyškov)
Tanzania#112Mbwana Samatta (PAOK), Simon Msuva (Al-Talaba)

Nigeria, the 2023 African Cup of Nations runner-up to the Ivory Coast, surprisingly failed to qualify for next year’s World Cup despite head coach Eric Chelle working his magic since taking charge of the Eagles in January.

With explosive marksman Victor Osimhen in his ranks, their 12.00 price to become AFCON outright champions seems generous. An early punt for the best odds on Osimhen to finish as the tournament’s top goalscorer could be considered, especially as Tanzania and Uganda look like cannon fodder in this group.

In-form Tunisia are among the dark horses to lift the coveted AFCON 2023 crown and are potentially worth a wager. Sami Trabelsi, re-appointed as Tunisia manager in February, recently masterminded a noteworthy 1-1 stalemate against Brazil. Tunisia’s outstanding World Cup qualifying campaign saw them win all 10 games without conceding a single goal, which makes a win-to-nil bet an attractive proposition. Opting for an accumulator bet could pay dividends on the Eagles of Carthage, who appear capable of making a big impact at the 2025 African Cup of Nations.

Botswana, 751.00 outsiders to win AFCON 2025, lost all three group games in their only African Cup of Nations appearance back in 2012. Manager Morena Ramoreboli has been at the helm since January, but he faces tough games against DR Congo and Senegal. The best opportunity for the Zebras to net maximum points is against Benin.

With both Benin and Botswana appearing to be little threat to the group, it is worth exploring bet builders and a half-time/full-time wager when big players DR Congo and Senegal line up to tackle the minnows. Senegal is a powerhouse, and under head coach Pape Thiaw are fourth favourite to win AFCON 2025 behind Morocco, Algeria and Egypt. Accumulators and bet builders should be checked out when Senegal plays.

The Lions of Teranga also possess a strong African Cup of Nations record, so could be worth an outright champions bet. They finished runner-up at AFCON 2019, won the trophy two years later, but in the last tournament fell in the last 16 on penalties to eventual champions Ivory Coast.

Algeria head coach Vladimir Petkovic, the former Switzerland manager, has been gifted arguably a dream group. A gentle start to the 2025 African Cup of Nations should result in the Greens sweeping aside Burkina Faso, Equatorial Guinea and Sudan. This draw offers punters a plethora of wagers to consider, including accumulators, bet builder, half-time/full-time and overall champions.

With Mohamed Amoura finishing as the leading goal-getter in the CAF World Cup qualifiers, finding the back of the net 10 times, it is worth comparing odds from sportsbooks to back Algeria’s centre forward as the top goalscorer at AFCON 2025.

Burkina Faso boss Brama Traore, Equatorial Guinea’s interim manager Guillermo Ganet and Sudan head coach James Kwesi Appiah will be plotting how to get out of their group. Playing each other could be cagey affairs, with a share of the spoils potentially a safer punt than opting for a winner, although in-play bets are advisable for their group matches against each other.

Ivory Coast boss Emerse Fae sensationally steered the Elephants to AFCON 2023 glory after stepping into an interim manager role in the last 16 knockout stages. They kept a clean sheet in all 10 of their CAF World Cup qualifiers, yet are generously priced at 13.00 as outright champions of the 2025 African Cup of Nations and attractive odds of 6.00 to reach the final.

Five-time AFCON winners Cameroon are their biggest rivals in this group, but the Indomitable Lions surprisingly missed out on reaching next year’s World Cup finals, so they are not in tip-top form. Head coach Marc Brys came out of retirement in March 2024 and will fancy a strong run in Africa’s showpiece tournament if he can defeat Gabon.

Gabon manager Thierry Mouyouma only lost one World Cup qualifier group game, but his Black Panthers slipped up during extra time in the CAF play-off against Nigeria. Bet builders and half-time/full-time wagers are best to consider for both Cameroon and Gabon, especially against unfancied Mozambique.

Mozambique head coach Chiquinho Conde led the Mambas to two draws and a single defeat at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, bowing out at the group stage. He has his work cut out to replicate such impressive results in AFCON 2025, although in-play betting could be worth weighing up when the Mambas are involved.
