South Africa won’t be playing in the World Cup, but South Africans from Johannesburg to Capetown will be watching all the action from Russia next month. South Africa’s Springbok Casino surveyed players on who they’d like to win and who they think will win. Brazil and Germany are the favourites for both.
Springbok has just published an online 2018 Soccer World Cup scrapbook that shows the results of the survey and takes a look at the teams that will be competing in Russia. There’s also a section on some surprising four-legged soccer enthusiasts.
2018 Soccer World Cup group stage matches start June 14th. 32 teams will be battling for the title. Although Springbok players seem convinced that either Brazil or Germany will be victorious, they also like England, Spain and Australia.
